Roman hearts are “meatier” and crunchier than lettuce, slightly sweet, and easy to eat.
Salads
Washed, dried, and roughly chopped romaine hearts taste amazing with a simple tahini dressing. I can easily eat 6-8 large romaine hearts in one sitting in a salad. If I have a case of romaine hearts, I wouldn’t buy any other greens and eat romaine hearts every day for dinner.
Tacos
You can make healthy tacos using romaine hearts as a taco shell. Use the bigger outer leaves to make a shell and stuff them with the taco meat and sauces you will find in the recipe section of this book. My ranch sauce recipe goes great with the tacos. I also have a taco salad recipe in this book that can be made using romaine hearts.
