What to do with a box of apples

Apples are always a good snack and they store well. I have no hesitation buying apples by the box. I do not use apples for recipes much. But I have a favorite apple pie recipe, that calls for a whole lot of apples. This apple-based pie is in the recipe section of this book.

How I buy apples

As with other fruits, there are many different varieties and I always try one apple before buying a box. Especially if I’m not familiar with the particular variety. But unlike oranges, I rarely had apples that tasted really bad.
