Sprouting
Lentils, mung beans, buckwheat, and chickpeas are easy to sprout and you do not need to buy expensive equipment or designated sprouting mixes.
In a strainer
I soak everything but buckwheat overnight, buckwheat for 20 minutes max. I soak everything in a big bowl to ensure there is enough water to completely cover everything. Especially the chickpeas soak up lots of water overnight. In the morning, I transfer everything into a strainer and rinse my sprouts every 4 h. After 12-24 h, the sprouts are usually ready to eat.
In a jar
There are special sprouting jars with a perforated lid. They work the same way as a strainer, but you can only sprout small quantities and the jars are quite expensive.
